Waterfowl

"Situated in the famed Golden Triangle of Missouri, Habitat Flats has some of the finest and most well managed properties available. With three major Refuges in this relatively small area; including Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Grand Pass Conservation Area, and Fountain Grove Conservation Area... the numbers of migrating waterfowl that come here are staggering!



Ducks: Hunting opportunities abound with flooded crop fields, large managed moist soil marshes, oxbow sloughs, and dry fields to name a few. From the intensive management strategy implemented, to the ability to keep water open when things are freezing...we cut no corners or expense in providing you the hunt of a life time! Stretch your feet out in front of the fireplace and relive the days memories in the new, spacious, comfortable lodge. Meals are included so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The night time meals are catered in by the world renowned Pear Tree Restaurant, a five star restaurant recently inducted into the Missouri Restaurant Hall of Fame. Main courses vary from night to night, but include dishes like prime rib, salmon, filet mignon, chicken, various pastas, ribeyes, etc. Salad with three homemade dressings and homemade croutons, vegetables, breads, homemade desserts, and wine round out the menu. This trip offers not only world class hunting, but a relaxing and unforgettable experience!!

Snow Goose: Missouri is well known as a 'go to' destination for spring snow goose hunting. This operation is well known for consistently putting you under tornadoes of decoying snow geese. Having thousands of acres of private ground around major refuges, in the best areas of Missouri at their disposal allows them to do this. Hunts take place in fields out of well concealed layout blinds sitting in the midst of large numbers of full body snow goose motion decoys. With no limits during the Spring Light Goose Conservation Season, hunters not required to participate in picking up or putting out the large spreads of decoys, and being able to eat and relax at days end....this is a once in a lifetime snow goose hunting experience!

Canada Goose: Ability to keep water open. Several thousand acres of crop ground for dry fielding. Situated right next to major refuges.
Our goose hunting can be outstanding. We hunt out of pit blinds over water and out of layout blinds when field hunting.

Rails: For those who understand the beauty of rail hunting, we have fabulous opportunites.


Trophy Deer

Habitat Flats controls several thousand acres of some of the finest managed, trophy whitetail deer hunting in the state. The Quality Deer Management plan in place and hunting success has been proven on these properties for over a decade. Coupled with the Missouri Department of Conservation's decision to allow only bucks with 4 points on one side or more to be legal...this has fastracked the area to be a hotspot for big bucks.

 

Our resources consist of a variety of habitats; food plots, hardwood timber, wooded draws, agricultural land, and CRP. Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Fountain Grove Conservation Area provide the deer with a sanctuary to get some age under their belt and are legendary for producing trophy class whitetails.

With properties bordering and adjacent to these areas, we are fortunate to take full advantage of their benefits. Missouri deer tags are purchased over the counter, so a lottery draw like they have in other states will not stand between you and the whitetail experience of a lifetime.

Our recommendation is that only bucks that are 130" or bigger are harvested. However, beauty is in the eye or the beholder, so if you happen to shoot one that is smaller, there will not be a penalty.
