Ruggs Ranch is a rare breed in the hunting world. Rare because we offer not only preserve hunting, but wild bird hunting as well. When you book with Ruggs Ranch, you are opening up endless possibilities which include trap shooting on a world class trap course, preserve hunting that is unmatched anywhere, hunting wild Hungarian Partridge and Chukar from horseback and wagon, as well as a driven pheasant hunt unlike any in the world. We offer world class accommodations for up to 12 hunters.

Shotguns & Chaps
As you ride the hillsides and canyons with your friends, our pointers hunt out in front of you to find coveys of birds. You will see the countryside from a vantage point most unique. This is how hunting used to be, and still is today at Ruggs; Teddy Roosevelt would be proud. Our camps are well set up, comfortable, and remote.
This is the most unique hunt offered in the United States today. A chance to live like a king from a horse, hunting over dogs who live to do it, and shooting wild birds in a paradise known as Ruggs Ranch.
If you’ve never ridden or think you don’t get along with horses, don’t give it a second thought. We use the horses every day, 365 days-a-year, on the ranch. Well broke and seasoned, they know every square mile and will take good care of you.

Pheasant and Chukar Hunting
We hunt pheasant and chukar from the lodge. Depending on the season, Ruggs Ranch has released as many as 20,000 birds into the wild.
Our lodge is the center of Ruggs Ranch, you can see the almost 5000 acres immediately surrounding that are farmed specifically for hunting. These food plots hold an abundance of Pheasant and Chukar as well as deer.
As you look out the East wing of the lodge, you will be mesmerized by the natural beauty that awaits you. Stepping out the back door, you are hunting in an upland bird paradise. The guides and dogs at the ranch are willing and eager to be your hunting partners during your stay at Ruggs … this time and next.
Pheasant and Chukar hunting from the lodge at Ruggs Ranch runs from September through March for up to 12 people at a time. We have several packages to accommodate your time and budget. Our farmland holds game; our guides and dogs know how to get it. All you do is add shells and stir—your hunt is served.

Ruggs Ranch Hunting Packages
Bronze Hunt Package
Two Day, One Night
If you are looking for a great two day escape, this is your hunt. The afternoon you arrive, you will experience the Ruggs Ranch Clays Course, which includes eight stations laid out in the canyons of Rhae Creek. After your warm up on the clays, you will retire to the lodge for fine dining and relaxation in preparation for tomorrow's hunt.
Your morning begins with a hearty breakfast and a sunrise like no other. Rhae Creek Valley comes to life before your very eyes. Our guides ready the dogs, and make preparation for you and your hunting partners. Your morning's hunt will not only include Chukar and Pheasant, but a refreshing escape you deserve.
Silver Hunt Package
Three Days, Two Nights
Our most popular package, the Silver Package includes Clays Course, and three separate hunting opportunities from our lodge. This package allows you to see why we say "there is more to hunting". Welcome to Ruggs Ranch.
Gold Hunt Package
Four days, three nights
Relax, take the time you deserve. Hunt the way you want to over the next four days. Never see the same ground twice while hunting Pheasant and Chukar. Our guides and dogs are at the ready, and this 15000 acre portion of our ranch is your personal retreat.
Optional Horseback or Wagon Hunt (1 Day)
The Gold Hunting package allows you to substitute one day of your hunt to experience our wild bird hunting up on the mountain. This is done from horseback or wagon depending on your group. This option is only available from October 10 through December 15 or February 15 through March 31.

Warm up with Clays
Our clays course is pretty. No, really! It’s pretty. It lays out through a rock wall canyon. The stations change with the landscape and even if you can’t hit a target, you’ll like the view. However, our claim to fame is our Star Warz segment. Get ready to shoot and shoot and shoot! The birds come fast and furious and this is something nobody forgets. It’s fun.
Upon request, we offer direction by expert instructors, who can not only shoot but teach. So, if you’ve never fired a shotgun, at the end of the lesson, you will have the confidence to be a wing shooter and enjoy your stay at Ruggs.
Our Lodge
The lodge at Ruggs Ranch is the centerpiece of our operation. In 1998 a $1.7 Million renovation was done to the lodge and the pro shop which put a resounding exclamation point on our hunting paradise, that Ruggs is truly a world class destination hunt.
The lodge can accommodate twelve guests with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Our pro shop also has two deluxe rooms with a private bathroom for two additional guests. The lodge is big enough to be elegant in stature, yet small enough to still be considered quaint. All of the furnishings at the lodge were ordered for the renovation: from the custom Pendelton bedding to the hand made twelve-person dinning room table. Every detail throughout is made for this lodge.
The lodge itself sits on a bluff over looking Rhea Creek Valley, were an abundance of wildlife thrive and flourish as if to put on a private show for all who stay at Ruggs Ranch. The lodge offers a 360 degree view from the bluff it sits on. And from this vantage point a person can gain perspective of the truly important things in one’s life. No one has ever said they didn’t feel at home in our lodge. You can’t help it.
Pro Shop
Our pro shop is a great addition to the ranch. The pro show provides private lockers for your guns and gear as well as the added benefits of a fully-stocked accessories showroom. We are an authorized dealer for companies such as Filson, Butler Bag, Montana Canvas as well as Holland & Holland just to name a few.
Inside this facility, you will also find a complete gun cleaning table with cleaning supplies at your disposal. Not to mention our all stainless steel cleaning room where we clean and package your birds for your trip home. The common area in this building serves as the staging area to your daily hunting activities where we prep the dogs and load the trucks.
